+Contested cases (Applications without the full collaboration of your ex-spouse)

For contested cases concerning obtaining or modifying support payments, the rates for our staff range from $120/hour for articling law students to $350/hour for senior attorneys, according to their specialization and level of experience. Unlike most firms, however, you do not have to negotiate your rate based on your income or capacity to pay; we set clear and transparent pricing ahead of time to ensure fairness. If you have a budget you would like to maintain for legal fees, we can indicate the steps you can perform on the file without having to sacrifice for a lower quality of service from certain "economical" firms. For more information, visit our section on our transparent biling policy.

A deposit of $1500 is required at the opening of your file to cover the cost of Court stamps, bailiff fees, and the first portion of work. The deposit is held in a separate trust account regulated by the Quebec Bar Association, and all unused amounts are reimbursed to you at the closing of your file.

To begin your file, call us at (514) 234-3333 to book an appointment with one of our lawyers specializing in family law.
